Jr. High Retreat to Condemned Building

Well the Jr. High Retreat started off great.  The kids had energy and excited as we unloaded the bus and van, looked through the different rooms and brought all the food into the kitchen.

After about 20 minutes, just as we were unloading the final items a guy came up and explained that we couldn’t use the building.  A month previously the building had been condemned.  The caretaker showed up 20 minutes later explaining that he had called our secretary a month ago letting us know we couldn’t use the facility.  Somehow that message never made it to our Jr. High youth workers, Chris and Andrea.

Thankfully we had a smaller group than we had originally anticipated and we were able to stay at Nakijin which is a much nicer retreat facility and use all of the cabins and their chapel.  God had provided an even better place than we had expected to have.

David Hutchings, who is raising support to come to Camp Foster, spoke on Hebrews chapter 12 and encourage the kids to get rid of everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles and to run with perseverance the race marked out for us, keeping our eyes on Jesus.  [photopress:Escape_Oki_07_063.jpg,full,centered]
