So…I know that I just posted yesterday, but I wanted to update anyone who is mildly interested in my skin conditions (I am always surprised anyone reads this…I know some people score a zillion on their “Input” strength [and yes, I’m calling you out Louise Johnson and Beth Merrill]…and reading blogs is just another way to acquire information, but seriously…that you find time in your day to read these musings is so nice and another way you all love us….but I digress…)
I don’t have scabies…never did. That’s what I get for stereotyping orphans with skin diseases…many thanks go out to Buddy, Kori Chin and Melissa to help me trace my steps and find that I had PEELED A MANGO 12-24 hours both times before I exploded into the itches…apparently, there is some kind of “sulfate” in Mango sap/oil/whatever else leaks out of it and it probably doesn’t help that I’m allergic to sulfa drugs…oh my.
Mangos can be dangerous to your skin!
It’s all about the peeling…I can eat it no problem…I keep repeating a couple songs in my head like “Can’t touch this!” and singing “I’d rather have scabies than be allergic to mango sap” (to the tune of I’d Rather have Jesus, than silver or gold)…why? Because there for an awful, terrible moment, it seemed I was allergic to actual MANGO’s…and that would’ve just been plain ole’ cruel now that we live in the mango captial of the world.

Good times just keep coming (along with reminders about why I never went into medicine and maybe shouldn’t self-diagnose with all the tricky medicines you can get over-the-counter here…
