Germany, The future & IOYW

Posted by on November 19, 2006

The next couple of weeks I will be preparing for training in Germany. I will be speaking to some of the youth workers from a sister organization that does youth ministry on military bases. Please pray that God would use this time in the lives of the youth workers in a significant way. Jeff Campbell and Mark Wilson will also be leading parts of the training as well.

While there, I will also be meeting with Jeff and Mark regarding our future role with Malachi. Would you pray that God will continue to make clear to us what he would have us to do?

Our time in the states has been really good. Yesterday I spent the day at a Inside Out Youth Worker seminar which was really good. I went with the youth pastor and student leaders from the church we are attending. I loved the premis of the conference and the book that our ministry is secondary to and flows from our own relationship with God. Basically the idea of John 15, remain in Christ and God will bear fruit through you that will last for all of eternity, for youth workers.

Since we have been back in the states I have spent much more time in contact with former students that I anticipated but it has been really good. In fact, for a while I was thinking about spending time as a big brother or something in a local school but I realized the relationships we have built over the last 6 1/2 years have provided plenty of opportunities for ministry even from a distance. Anyway, being with students yesterday made me really miss the students that were in our ministry. Military students really are special.
