Rampage 2000

Well we just got back from Rampage 2000, our Spring Junior High retreat.  We took about 50 junior Higher's to a little Baptist camp about 2 hours away from here in a place called Nakijin Village.  Jeff Reichanadter came from Elkhart, Indiana to challenge the kids about giving God the highest priority in their lives.  Many of the kids are new Christians.  We had 15 accept Christ as their Savior last fall and one kid as recently as last Sunday.  For this group of kids we felt that they really needed to be challenged to put Christ first.  Jeff did a great job of challenging them with some of the tough sayings of Christ.

One of our big late night activites was 70's night.  Vinny (a young airman who moves bombs around for a living and one of our key staff members) and Jeff didn't even have to go out and buy new clothes for 70's night.  They just picked out some of the clothes that they brought with them.  Josh had the priviledge of being totally buried in sand about 15 times in 3 minutes.  Way to take one for the team Josh.

Our meetings were held in the chapel building which worked out great for our retreat.  The acoustics were really good in the building.  Jen was our dean of women and she laid down the law for the weekend.  We had a few kids on the trip who had gotten into some trouble in the past.  They were very good on the trip and some of them are even showing signs of softening.  Pray that God will continue to draw the kids to Himself.  The beach was great.  It was about a 1 minute walk from the main building.  The water temperature is pretty warm this time of year.  It was neat to see the number of kids who have decided to give things up that were taking away their focus from God.  Pray for the number of kids who made decisions this weekend.  Many of the kids have decided that they want to start spending time with God everyday for the first time in their life.

One of the biggest free time events was the boat battles.  Kids would spend hours playing king of boat and attacking other boats.
