Centrifuge/Mission Trip

We took off from Mainland Japan for an 11 day journey on the 26th of June.  We spent the first 6 days at a camp facility in Nagoya, Japan and the final 5 days at various homes and churches in the Nagano area.  This is where the olympics were held and the area was very beautiful.  There are probably too many pictures on this page but I wanted to give you an idea of what our trip was like.  Most of our time at the camp was spent in meetings and various fun activities like ice skating.  There is a picture of the entire Centrifuge group below.

Below are some of the pictures from the time that we were tracting.  Andrew is the guy with the Jesus Cassette in his mouth and a bag in his hands.  He is a great servant and was my partner for much of the trip.  On the left is a guy that we gave a Jesus cassette and tract to.  He had a very beautiful garden that he obviously spent much time taking care of.  Josh Arp would have approved.

On the left is Kevin listening to Adrianne's heartbeat.  Jen is now wearing my clothes since she is 6 months pregnant and trying to pretend she won't eventually need to wear maternity clothes.  I thought today of changing the baby's name to Julia Adrianna but Jen said that we had already told everyone it was going to be Adrianne something so we needed to leave it at that.  Well let you know as the baby progresses.  We still have about 3 months to make the very final decision.  I love keeping the option open to the last minute.  On the right I am demonstrating the proper way to use a Japanese toilet.  I haven't really mastered the whole process yet and I try to avoid them like the plague.  Most larger facilities have what they call a "Western" which means a toilet that you can sit down on.

On the right are the fella's that stayed with me in the Okaya church while the rest of the group slept comfortably in beds in different parts of the cities.  Everyone was so beat every night that they often went to sleep before I did and were asking me if they could turn out the lights while I was still reading.  2 Weeks away from home was longer than just about any of them had been away from their families.  On the last night however Kevin decided to start drawing tattoo's on everyone.  He created my Mom heart with his permanent marker.  On the plane ride home some of the kids thought they would liven things up by pretending they were on a roller coaster.  Check out the poor guy in the second seat back on the isle on the left.  We canceled a ticket about a week before the flight and so they stuck him in that seat in the middle of 40 American teenagers and their chaperones.
