Super Typhoon Soamai

Circled in Red is the island of Okinawa.  The yellow dot is approximately where our house is located.  The yellow dot could also be approximately 10 miles from our house.  I am not too sure of our location from this satelitte photo.  The big white swirling mass is Typhoon Soammai, pronounced, "Oh my".

The winds don't look all that bad out front.  Not like you would want to go out in them but in my mind I always imagined trees and pieces of wood flying by.  I guess it's beause movies and the news manly show the sensational footage.   I just watched the news and it does look like there was some damage around.  A tree fell over and crushed a car and a small Japanese truck was blown over by the wind. The worst winds are still to come though.  The winds should only be about 100 mph here on base according to the news.

Just another healthy meal of hotpockets and coke.  I am really disappointed in myself for not getting candy bars for dessert.  Luckily I bought a package of Nilla waffers so as long as the Typhoon is over sometime tomorrow I should make it through OK.  I don't know what has happened over the last four years since I have been married.  My mom brought me up right and I used to know how to cook.  For some reason I now would rather just pop something in the microwave.  Maybe it's the incredible advances in Processed Pre Packaged foods that are available these days.  Today they have little crispers that actually make stuff you cook in the microwave crispy.  Who needs an over?  I am still trying to convince Jen that we don't need one since our house only has a 2 burner gas stove.  Maybe we could just buy big mircowave crispers and cook everything in a microwave.  I'll let you know what Jen thinks about that idea.
