Roanoke, VA

Roanoke was our last planned stop on the trip which worked out well since it was our year to spend Thanksgiving with Jen's family.  We had a lot of fun seeing the family again.  Evan and I found that one of the coolest things to do in Grandma's house was to take a mattress and cruise down the stairs.  Jen was often found taking care of Carey.  In the two weeks since Carey's walking skills have improved tremendously.

Evan and Eric act out the story of David and Goliath.  You can see Goliath about to hit the ground.  Instead of the story ending with David cutting off Goliath's head David just jumps on Goliath and laughs.  In the middle picture Evan is flipping over after his bath.  Basically Evan's day is filled with a whole lot of fun and reading books.  We really liked the fire place, especially after we loaded and chopped all the wood.  Even better than chopping the wood was chopping the potato's.  You can see the potato in mid flight.

One of the highlights of Thanksgiving was when Jen's brother Jon showed up.  We felt bad that he had missed out on all the festivities so we all dressed up in Rain deer hats and blinking noses to pick Jon up at the airport.  You can see the smile on his face as he looks up at the window and can see a couple of red blinking lights.  He knew that something was up at that point.  On the right is Evan sporting the latest fashions in lipstick.  He still needs to work on his aim but he's getting there.

Meals were a big part of the week.  I didn't get a picture of Thanksgiving dinner but I did manage to get a picture of leftover dinner the next day.  This is Dad with Grandma Bea, and his sister's Mageret and Mary.   I am not sure if Eric is sweating to the oldies to work off some of that Thanksgiving dinner or just pulling some of those old lp's out to jam to.
